The base engine was 230 cu in 38 L inline-6 with a 250 cu in 41 L six or 302 cu in 49 L 307 cu in 50 L 327 cu in 54 L 350 cu in 57 L and 396 cu in 65 L V8s as options. Good things come to those who wait and this car was met with rave reviews from nearly everyone. The 330 horsepower version came with a single exhaust and was available in any V8-optioned body except the SS-optioned Malibu or El Camino.
1 ZL1 built 12E at Norwood is one of the first Camaros to have a factory ZL2 hood. It has an output of 110 bhp 112 PS82 kW of power at 3800 rpm and maximum torque of 251 Nm. Unlike the 1969 model also on display this Z28 contains the LT1 V8 engine.
The cowl hood was an option on SS and Z28 models in 1969 and was included on all COPOs and Pace Cars. This unit features overhead valve valve gear 6 cylinder layout and 2 valves per cylinder. Ironically these engines had a true displacement of 402 cubic inches Chevrolet had slightly increased the 396s bore size from 4096 inches to 4125 inches.
